Multiple Sclerosis, MS, Extreme tiredness, Dizzy, Dizziness, Weak, Fog, Sclerosis, demyelinating, myelinIf one has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), you may have a lot of questions. Here are a few of the basics and what one can do to alleviate some of his symptoms.

What is happening in the body of one who has multiple sclerosis?

The immune system is attacking the myelin sheath.

What is the myelin sheath?

This is an insulating layer in the brain that has the job of protecting the spinal cord, allowing the body to communicate with the brain.

What is CCSVI?

This stands for chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency. It means that the flow of blood through the veins is being compromised. Paolo Zamboni’s research led him to believe that it plays a role in the development of MS.

How is CCSVI related to MS?

Iron deposits are a trigger for the myelin sheath to begin to deteriorate, leading to the nerves being hindered in their communication. It may be due to a vascular disease that changes blood flow, according to recent research. It is unknown what the cause of this vascular condition is.

How does upper cervical chiropractic help MS?

The latest research reveals that a misalignment in the upper neck vertebrae may be adding to the symptoms of MS.

Why should I try a natural alternative?

What this can mean for someone suffering from multiple sclerosis is that rather than using medication to relieve the symptoms, an adjustment to the bones of the upper neck may help just as much.

What if the misalignment is small? Does it really do that much damage?

It only takes a misalignment of ¼ of a millimeter to put enough stress on the brainstem to distort communication between the brain and body.

What good will correcting the problem do?

It has shown in case studies that by readjusting the bones of the upper neck, one can see improvement in MS symptoms. When the bones of the neck are in proper alignment, blood flow and communication to the brain and body are restored. This is often all that is needed for some to see a decrease in the disabling symptoms of multiple sclerosis.
