fibrosixninepixelsfdpnA diagnosis of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) can be kind of an enigma.  It isn’t known precisely what causes it, and there is no one test that provides a definitive diagnosis.  People diagnosed with CFS can be left feeling like their treatment options are similar to a game of roulette, never being certain if their symptoms will be managed.

Chronic Fatigue syndrome is a complicated disorder.  People with CFS experience unexplainable extreme fatigue that does not improve with rest.  They may also have memory loss, poor concentration, enlarged lymph nodes in the neck or armpits, and unexplained joint or muscle pain.  Scientists theorize different factors that may contribute to the onset of CFS, including viral infections, immune system problems, and hormonal imbalance.

While it may not seem obvious to mainstream medical professionals, there is a common thread between the abovementioned theories that upper cervical chiropractors have understood for quite some time.  The nervous system governs the function of all other systems of the body, including the immune system and the endocrine system, which is responsible for hormonal regulation.  In Chattanooga, Drs. Todd and Christi Osborne help people suffering with CFS get to the underlying cause of their health issues and back to living a full life.

The goal of upper cervical chiropractic is to analyze for and correct misalignments of the top two vertebrae in the neck.  These two bones, when out of normal alignment, can significantly and negatively affect the brainstem, which controls many of the automatic functions of our bodies.  Drs. Todd and Christi give gentle adjustments, only when found to be necessary, to restore proper alignment.  Once the upper cervical area is allowed to stabilize, normal nervous system function returns.  This, in turn, eliminates the need to continue with short-term symptomatic relief and gets to the bottom of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
